Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 launched for Rs 31,490

Big display and dual-core mobile processor bearing Galaxy Mega smartphones are Samsung's reply to the current fad of large screen smartphones.

Samsung has officially launched the new Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 devices for Rs 31,490 and Rs 25,100 respectively.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 device is basically a tablet with smartphone features incorporated. Its 6.3-inch HD TFT LCD display has 720p HD resolution natively. The 8.0 mm thick handset has a dual-core 1.7 GHz mobile processor and 1.5 GB RAM. This device is being offered in 8 GB and 16 GB on-board storage options and features a memory card slot capable of holding up to 64 GB micro SD card.

Bearing design similar to the Galaxy S4, the new Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a Group Play feature that enables easy content sharing to up to eight devices on the same wireless network. Samsung WatchON converts the device into a touchscreen remote controller for the TV. Samsung aims to take on LG's Q Translator with the S Translator that requires internet to translate a spoken or written text.
It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with layer of Nature UX running on top of it. It supports a variety of audio-video formats and has Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi Direct, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Media High-definition Link, Near Field Communication, and GPS along with GLONASS support.

iBall has launched a quad core tablet called iBall Slide Q9703 powered by quad core processor with 2GB RAM for Rs. 15,999. The tablet supports 4K videos and comes with 16GB internal storage.
The tablet will compete with Wammy Magnus and Zync Quad 10.1 inch tablet. The iBall Slide Q9703 definitely has a better screen of 9.7 inches with 2048×1536 pixel resolution. This tablet is powered by Octa logic GPU + 1.2GHz quad core processor. The battery is of 8000 mAh capacity and Android 4.1 Jelly bean runs the show with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

The tablet can make calls as well as access 2G internet using its SIM. However, for 3G, one has to rely on a dongle that can be connected using the onboard USB port. The Me Tab V1 is based on Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and fortunately HCL has now added support for Google Play.
